What is the Founders deal?+
The first 100 members get a full year of Velvet Pro for $10 (normally $96). Create a free account, then enter code FOUNDERS in your Dashboard under Subscription before checkout. It is limited to one use per account and 100 members total — after your first year it renews at the standard $96/year, and you can cancel any time.
Will the Free plan stay free?+
Yes. Free includes 2,000 cloud and 2,000 local words per week and isn't going away. We may adjust limits with 30 days notice — never without warning.
What happens if I cancel Pro?+
Pro features stay active until the end of your current billing period. After that you drop to Free — your dictionary, snippets, and local history are preserved, but cross-device sync stops. Free-tier quotas apply.
Do I need an account to use Velvet?+
Yes. Sign in with a free account to dictate on the Free plan (2,000 cloud + 2,000 local words per week). Pro subscribers can also activate with a license key from the dashboard. Local transcription runs on your machine — the account tracks weekly quotas and unlocks Pro features when you subscribe.
What payment methods do you accept?+
All major cards and PayPal account payments. PayPal handles regional methods (Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA, iDEAL) depending on your location. VAT handled for EU & UK customers automatically.
Is there a refund policy?+
Yes — 30-day no-questions-asked refund on any Pro payment. Contact us from your Dashboard and we will process it within one business day.
